Awesome reel!
We've been fishing for smaller stripers that are schooling over the main lake, and smallmouth bass along the banks in the rocks. Smooth and fast, the Aeroflex has handled everything we've asked it to do with ease.
Moreover, it has been flawless in operation!

I recieved the Generation IV Nymph rod in 3wt - 10 foot. This rod was to upgrade my trout contact rod. Based on reviews, I tried casting it with a WF Rio Creek Line and it cast great. On my first outing, decided to fish it with that WF line with a rather large dry dropper rig - and it cast better than my Sage 3 weight dry fly rod. This rod fishes dries on a standard line, with no compromises. I am optimistic that this rod is promising to be truely versatile - contact nymphing and dry fly fishing with standard lines.
I love my Ideal Nymph rods. This Gen IV seems lighter, more well appointed, and a step up from the rods I already love.

The ideal nymph reel is amazing. Precision machined, ultra smooth and finely adjustable drag. It is perfect for Euro nymphing. I love the look, offset reel seat, beautiful reel. It balanced perfectly with my Ideal Nymph 4 weight 10 foot – 10 inch rod. I fish this rod for tributary fish (browns and steelhead) and smallmouth.
On my first outing, I landed my personal best smallmouth – 20 inches, 16 inch girth, estimates at 6.4 lbs. A youth I mentor, landed his personal best smallmouth – 19 inches – on the same reel.
In the past, the leader would get caught under the frame of my former reel, requiring removing the spool up to 6 times a day. On the Ideal Nymph reel, in several weeks of fishing, the leader has never got caught.
First rod ever purchased from Diamond Back and I am very surprised how in love I am with this rod. I purchased the 10’7” 2WT to add to my many Euro rods. I was a little reluctant purchasing the rod for only one reason that it’s made in China and not made in America but I think this rod is as good if not better than my Sage ESN and my mult Orvis Black Out and 10’6” Helios. If you can look past that the rod is amazing!! The rod tip is so super sensitive allowing to detect the smallest strikes plus the remainder of the rod has plenty of back bone to land larger trout. I have only had a chance to fish it twice but I can’t imagine not fishing this rod over my other rods now. Great rod for the money and just as good as my high end rods from Orvis and Sage. I’m a true believer in Diamond Back rods and am planning on purchasing the 10’7” 1 WT here in the very near future. I strongly suggest purchasing one if you’re on the fence with comparing to other rods. You will not be disappointed and I think you will be very pleasantly surprised as I was.
Series of rods are very light in hand good for hours of casting in windy conditions yet powerful for lifting fish. Great rod at its price point!
I love it! Its smooth, machined with precision and large harbor make it really fast to retrieve even with mono. Im move a vintage clicker reel guy, but the hightech design with ballance weight is pretty cool!
One of the best reels out there. Needed a spare spool for a dry line, but ever since i switched over to this reel, im not looking back at anything else.

Aeroflex Freshwater Reel
This is a solid euro nymphing reel. It is super smooth. It never tangles and the line never escapes the cage. you can have a ton of line out and when reeling in it will not tangle. it balances the DMB 10'10" 2wt extremely well. i will buy another.
The Ideal Nymph Reel is the finest reel I’ve ever owned! I love it!
Just picked up an Aeroflex 9/10 saltwater fly reel, and was very pleased with its looks, feel. The reel is a beauty to look at, and I’m a big fan of how easy it is to palm the drag when, and if you need to slow a fish down. The reel was nicely balanced with the Aeroflex 10 wt saltwater rod. Highly recommend
I recently picked up a Diamondback Aeroflex 9’0 10 wt saltwater fly rod, paired with an Aeroflex 9/10 reel. Couldn’t be happier. The quality of craftsmanship, the feel is second to none. I highly recommend
