One rod to rule them all

I have been waiting a little bit to write this review bc i wanted to spend some time with the Aero Flex 10f 3 w.

The Aero Flex series rods are amazing tools. There are many different models to tackle many different angling scenarios.

What I was looking for was a light weight rod that could cast a dry fly and also nymph. After speaking to Joe he confirmed that the 10 ft 3 w areo flex was designed for this purpose.

There are times where dedicated dry fly or nymphing rods are great. However I find myself most of the time only wanting to carry one rod. This is because I like to fish hard to reach places where the multi rod approach doesn't really work.

The 10 ft 3 w rod is really unique. Unlike other 3 w rods it tappers down to a strong well balanced butt section. What this translates into is a rod that can cast a dry fly line really well but has the sensitivity at the tip to nymph with. I paired the rod with a Sage Trout 4/5 reel which balanced the rod quiet well. This is important with longer rods so your wrists don't get tired. The line I was using was the SA Amplitude Trout.

On a trip in BC I fished that Elk River and Bull River for multiple days. The rod was sensitive enough to detect faint hits from small fish in fast rapids and it was also strong enough to fight a 17 in cutty that I was luck enough to hook up to.

The build quality is top notch. I am a huge fan of the full wells cork grip that comes on the rod. The shape of the Full wells in slightly different from what I have seen on some other rods. The front flare is slightly less than the rear. This allows for multiple hand placements and makes the rod feel really light in the hand. The quality of the cork is also top notch.

You can tell that a lot of thought gets put into these rods

Aeroflex Rods

The aeroflex rods are very versatile, delivering exceptional performance across different fishing conditions. They have plenty of power to effortlessly cast sinking lines or indicator rigs, yet are delicate enough to handle dry flies with finesse. If you’re looking for one rod that can do it all I highly recommend a Aeroflex. Clients have been impressed with these rods.

Very versatile rod.

This rod checks all the right boxes. I was told by Joe the 10' 6wt was a very versatile tool and I couldn't agree more. I prefer 10' rods for boat fishing to get line over head on streamers so I was excited about this option. I've been mono rigging lately with it down to 5x and 4x and its taper loads nice with a sizable fish on. Can't wait to try it with sink line for casting meat, and floating line for smallies this summer.

Amazing

My Aeroflex is great. Nice and light in the handle, loads really well. Strong enough for bigger streamers but delicate enough to soft land dry flys.

Also the customer service is some of the best I've dealt with.

Do-it-all rod

At first I figured I'd fish the 9' 5wt as a dry fly rod but it's doing just as well with fairly substantial foam hoppers and even small streamers. While fishing it last week I went to strip out a bit more line and realized an entire 100' fly line was already off the reel and this rod was casting it with complete ease. Small streams or big lakes seem to be equally tempting with this rod.

Thank you

Thank you for your great help and support in finding a replacement rod for my very old Diamondback. However, due to the rain and the river levels, I have not been able to get the new rod in the river yet. Will let you know how it goes.

Aeroflex

I own the aeroflex in a 9' 5wt, 9' 6wt, 9'7wt and a 9' 8wt. And they all perform great. Broke 2 of them, one was my fault other might of been a defect not sure, anyways they replaced both for a very reasonable price and got the replacement section to my house in less than a week both times. I fish them hard hard and if one does happen to break i will have a new piece within a week. I would definitely recommend this rod.

Aeroflex 10’ 7wt

What a rod. I have a 6wt Tactical Long rod and after talking with John, decided to get the Arroflex in 7wt. This rod casts effortlessly just like the Tactical Long. What a beauty! I also use it for my heavy sink line, and still effortlessly casting. I was sold on the Diamondback quality before, and now it is firmly concreted in my mind at how well these rods are built. Diamondback rods are the best kept secret in the industry. More shops need to carry them so people can enjoy them.

Aeroflex 10ft #6

This rod is a canon, truly a great long casting rod. If you're fishing lakes for big bows, bass and even pike. This rod will handle it all. It loads beautifully and makes it easy to get distance without wearing you out. It's also perfect for big jig streamers, very strong blank. Looking forward to catch big smallies in crazy currents with this one.

Stellar!

I recently purchased a aeroflex 9’5wt and 10’ 3wt. As a guide these rods get used and abused everyday. Every client either noviced or advanced has enjoyed casting and fishing these rods. Their sensitivity, durability, and accuracy is exactly what I look for in a rod for my clients. Hands down the only rods I will ever fish!

Aeroflex 5 wt - A Classic Reinvented

Love my Diamondback Aeroflex 9' 5wt. For years, I have been a fan of the original Diamondback Aeroflex, and I still own several. I was looking forward to seeing what Joe and the Diamondback crew would do with this reimagined classic. What they have accomplished is beyond my expectations. The rod has the backbone and strength to deliver smaller streamers to "distant" fish all day but also has the accuracy and delicacy to use small dry flies up close.

Not only does it cast well in all condition, but it is also a blast to fish with. I have landed trout - both large and small and all sizes in between - as well as aggressive river small mouth bass. This rod handled them all very well.

Cosmetically, the rod is gorgeous. The blue-green blank, and blue-silver wraps are great. And the cork, and guides complement the overall design.

All-in-all and outstanding rod and great value.

I really enjoy my Aeroflex, and am looking forward to adding another (next time a 6wt) to my quiver.

Thanks.
